A very strong power as Everyone makes use of meditech. It is virtually impossible to imagine life without it. Birth, death, rebuilding, reproduction. Even without the wars Meditech gets used.
AMI is somewhat annoyed at the LAWs blase attitude to their technology. It is accepted as an exceptionally important low level technology but AMI feels its more advanced levels are under utilised. Meditech is more than building, repairing and rebuilding soldiers. Defensive and Offensive abilities are well within the possibilites of sciences aimed at understanding directly how life works. It might not be so sexy to kill your enemy with fast acting viral agents or toxic insect bites but they can be just as dead. A soldier with the hide of a rhino, the speed of a cheetah and the strength of a gorrilla has something to compete with a mere human sheathed in metal plate.
The meditech megacorp has come to be synonymous with the doctrine of evolution through artifically overcoming nature. Genetic manipulation, medicine, surgery.
Soldiers tend to be balanced highly mobile and defensive as mobility tends to increase at similar power to that required to move defensive values. Good at quick strike attacks and self sufficiency. Often better at stealth than Cyber.
"The human body is the most intricate and well engineered machine known to man. It has functioned with varying degrees of effectiveness under the most adverse conditions, from the bone chilling cold of the Arctic ice plains, to the searing sands of the desert, and in the dark, silent depths of the sea. It is an amazing creation from a master craftsman, but like all machines it can be improved. We've gone beyond relying on the capricious gifts of nature and designed new parts for ourselves from composites and plastic, silicon and steel- cybernetics. In the rush to make ourselves stronger, faster, and smarter we've forgotten that the siren call of metal is just an illusion of our brief lives and myopic vision. It's the power of living flesh, the strength of the arm, the knowledge of the mind, the sight of the eye, that masters the metal and forges it into something useful. When the swords and axes of the barbarians were long since rusted away their children still cried havoc and rode triumphant over the vanquished. Metal may be stronger than the flesh, but flesh endures forever. Welcome to the world of the new flesh." - Neugenics ad copy
